The Amnesia Problem in AI Content Tools
Most AI content systems have a fundamental flaw: they start from scratch every single time. You approve a dozen posts, reject a handful that feel off, and the next batch arrives as if none of that ever happened. The system learned nothing. You're back to correcting the same aesthetic mistakes, writing the same feedback, making the same judgment calls.
This isn't a bug โ it's how most stateless AI pipelines are designed. Generation happens, output ships, the session ends. Memory is expensive, messy, and hard to get right. So most tools skip it entirely.

When Jiwa AI analyzes a brand for the first time, one of the first things it builds is a mood board โ not a collection of Pinterest images, but a structured set of visual style scores. Think of styles like "Colorful Product Showcase," "Minimalist Flat Lay," or "Bold Typography Quote." Each one gets an initial score between 0 and 100, based on what Claude infers from your website, your Instagram history, and your industry context.
These scores directly influence what gets generated. The top-scoring styles feed into image prompts. A brand with a high score on "warm lifestyle photography" will see warmer, more candid-feeling images. A brand that scores high on "clean studio product shots" will get crisper, more controlled compositions.
The mood board is essentially the system's first guess at your aesthetic โ and like any first guess, it's imperfect.
Why Rejections Are the Real Signal
Here's the mechanic: every time a business owner approves or rejects a post in the dashboard, the underlying style scores shift. Approvals push the relevant style up by five points. Rejections push it down by five.
Simple math. But the design decision that matters most is this: rejection signals carry more information than approvals.
When someone approves a post, it might mean the content is genuinely on-brand โ or it might mean they needed something for Thursday and this was good enough. Approval is noisy. It blends "this is exactly us" with "this will do."
Rejection is much cleaner. When someone rejects a post, they're drawing a clear boundary. They're saying this aesthetic, this composition, this visual direction is not us. That signal is unambiguous, and the system treats it accordingly. Over enough interactions, the mood board learns what to avoid just as clearly as it learns what to pursue.
Why ยฑ5 Points and Not Something Smarter
We considered more sophisticated approaches โ weighted scoring based on how quickly someone rejected, exponential decay on old signals, confidence intervals that widen with inconsistent feedback. We tried some of them. They made the system harder to reason about without meaningfully improving results.
The ยฑ5 approach works because it's bounded and gradual. A single approval doesn't lock in a style forever. A single rejection doesn't blacklist it. You need consistent signal โ repeated approvals or repeated rejections โ to meaningfully shift the scores. This matches how brand taste actually works: it's a pattern, not a single data point.
It also means the system is resilient to mistakes. Accidentally rejected a post you actually liked? Approve the next similar one and the score recovers. No single decision is permanent.
Bounded Learning, Not Unbounded Drift
One risk with any feedback loop is runaway drift โ a system that keeps amplifying in one direction until it's generating content that's extreme rather than refined. We built against this deliberately.
Style scores stay within a fixed range. They can't be trained to zero (complete elimination) or pushed past a ceiling (total dominance). This keeps the mood board representing a genuine distribution of styles rather than collapsing into a single aesthetic mode. Even a brand that consistently approves bold typography will still occasionally see softer compositions โ because real brands need variety, and an algorithm that forgets that produces a feed that feels repetitive.
The goal isn't perfect prediction. It's progressive calibration.
What This Looks Like After Fifty Interactions
Fifty approvals and rejections sounds like a lot, but it happens quickly when a business is actively publishing content. Over that span, the mood board develops something that genuinely resembles taste.
A food brand might discover the system has learned they prefer warm, hand-held product shots over flat lays โ even if they never explicitly said so. A fitness brand might find that lifestyle scenes at outdoor courts outperform studio compositions, and the system has already started weighting those higher. These aren't rules the brand owner wrote down. They emerged from the accumulated weight of real decisions.
This is the difference between a content tool and a content partner. Tools execute instructions. Partners develop an understanding of what you're trying to do and bring that understanding to every new piece of work.
The Broader Principle
We built the mood board feedback loop because we believe AI content systems should get better the longer you use them โ not stay flat, and certainly not require constant re-briefing. Brand taste is learnable. Aesthetic preferences leave traces in every approval and rejection. The engineering challenge is capturing those traces in a way that's lightweight enough to be practical and meaningful enough to matter.
We're still early. What we're confident in is the direction: AI-powered content that compounds in quality over time, shaped not by what you tell it to do, but by what you consistently choose to publish.
